Kazakhstan has launched a new visa program designed for digital nomads, allowing foreign professionals to live in the country while working remotely for an overseas employer. Known as the Neo Nomad visa, this initiative offers an opportunity for remote workers to experience life in Kazakhstan without requiring local employment.
The visa is initially granted for one year and can be renewed up to three times, each for an additional year. To qualify, applicants must meet the government’s minimum income requirements and provide key documentation, including a tax report and a police clearance certificate. The application process must be completed at a Kazakh consular post, with processing typically taking up to seven business days, though this timeline may vary depending on individual circumstances.
While the visa allows digital nomads to reside in Kazakhstan, it does not permit them to take up local employment. However, dependents can be included under the visa, though they are also restricted from working.
