Julian Wells is a Senior Consultant at Hudson McKenzie dealing primarily with complex immigration matters. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the Home Office from 2003 until 2007 as a Presenting Officer where he represented the Home Office in approximately 3000 cases before the First Tier Immigration and Asylum Chamber. In 2007, he joined the Upper Tribunal team representing cases at the Upper Tribunal and case-working appeals before the High Court and Court of Appeal.
Julian works across the spectrum of business and personal immigration matters in which he has made a name for himself dealing with ‘very tricky’ and ‘dreadfully complex’ cases.
On the private immigration side, he specialises in Judicial Review (JR) and appeal matters and also human right applications, particularly Article 8 family and private life, Article 3 - medical and exceptional compassionate circumstances, and Political Asylum applications. He has successfully appealed several elderly dependant refusals. On the business side, his expertise lies in dealing with complex Civil Penalty Litigation matters when a Sponsor Licence is revoked/suspended.
