The scale-up worker visa is for migrant workers who have been offered employment with a fast-growing UK business (the ‘scale-up’ business). The UK employer must hold a valid scale-up worker sponsor licence.
The main requirements to be met are as follows:
- You must have a job offer to do a job that’s on the list of eligible occupations.
- Your employer must be an eligible fast-growing business (sometimes called a ‘scale-up business’).
- You must have a confirmed job offer to work for the scale-up business for at least 6 months. You must have a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer with information about the role you’ve been offered in the UK.
- You must be paid the minimum income threshold for the scale-up worker route is or the ‘going rate’ for the SOC, whichever is higher.
- You meet the English language requirement.

You can stay in the UK under the visa for up to 2 years. Upon visa expiry you can extend your visa as many times as you like by 3 years, as long as you still meet the eligibility requirements.

Your initial scale-up visa will be valid for 2 years and you will be able to extend you visa by 3 years at a time, as many times as you require. You can apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK once you have spent a period of 5 year sunder this route.
