Vietnam
The business visa in Vietnam is tailored for foreign nationals who wish to engage in business-related activities such as attending conferences, signing contracts, conducting market research, or collaborating with Vietnamese enterprises. While many foreign nationals require a business visa for these purposes, citizens from certain countries may be exempt due to bilateral or unilateral visa exemption agreements that Vietnam has established with those nations. Typically, business visas are issued for the duration necessary to complete the intended activities, but extensions are possible if the visa holder's business needs warrant a longer stay.
Foreign nationals who intend to work in Vietnam must secure a work permit to be legally employed in the country. This permit is vital for ensuring that foreign workers are formally recognized under Vietnamese law and meet all regulatory requirements. To obtain a work permit, applicants must provide proof of their qualifications, a clean bill of health, and a criminal record check that confirms they are fit for their professional roles. Additionally, the employing company in Vietnam must demonstrate the need to hire a foreign national, often by proving that the position cannot be satisfactorily filled by the local workforce.
Work permits are typically valid for the term of the employment contract, up to a maximum of two years, and are renewable.
