Uganda
Uganda offers several types of visas depending on the duration and purpose of the visit. Here is a summary of the primary visa categories.
Non-nationals planning to visit Uganda for purposes such as holidays, tourism, business, study, visits, or medical reasons must apply for and obtain a visa, unless they come from a country that is exempt from visa requirements.
A work permit allows the applicant to live and work in Uganda. This permit is always sponsored by an organization or company which must have a mandatory organization code.
The Class G2 permit is specifically designed for foreign expatriates employed by local companies or NGOs.
The Class G2 permit aims to address skill gaps in the Ugandan workforce by facilitating the entry of skilled foreign workers. It grants the holder the right to work in Uganda for up to two years, with the option for renewal, subject to the ongoing requirements of their employment and the approval of the DCIC.
