South Korea
South Korea offers several types of visas depending on the duration and purpose of the visit. Here is a summary of the primary visa categories:
C-3-4 Visa: This visa is intended for individuals participating in short-term business activities such as meetings, discussions, or boarding vessels for repair purposes. It facilitates temporary visits without extended residency rights.
K-ETA (Korean Electronic Travel Authorization): Citizens from eligible countries can take advantage of the K-ETA for short visits, streamlining their entry process into South Korea for business and tourism.
C-4 (Short-term Employment) Visa: Suitable for individuals intending to stay in South Korea for 90 days or less for activities that generate profit, such as commercials, fashion modeling, delivering lectures, conducting research, or teaching new technologies.
E-7 (Specific Activity) Visa: This visa is granted to foreigners with specialized expertise or appropriate technical skills crucial in specific fields. Typically issued for one year, the E-7 visa can be extended up to three years, with provisions for further extension to five years in special cases, depending on the employment needs.
D-8 (Treaty Investors) Visa: Targeted at individuals involved in the administrative management of a foreign-invested company as defined under the “Foreign Investment Promotion Act.” This visa category is crafted to encourage and facilitate foreign investment in the South Korean economy.
D-7 (Intracompany Transferees) Visa: Designed for employees who have worked for over a year at the main office, branch, or any related establishment of a foreign company and are being transferred to a branch or related company in South Korea. This visa allows for the internal movement within multinational corporations, ensuring that key personnel can continue their professional activities across borders.
