Nigeria
Nigeria offers several types of visas depending on the duration and purpose of the visit. Nigeria is a member of ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) Here is a summary of the primary visa categories:
Frequently traveled executives visa (F4C): This visa category is designed for senior business executives of international repute who have demonstrated a commitment to Nigeria through significant investments of at least USD 250,000. It facilitates frequent and streamlined travel for these individuals.
Multiple entry visa (F4B): Suitable for business professionals who require multiple entries into Nigeria. This visa is issued based on principles of reciprocity and is ideal for individuals who engage in regular business activities within the country.
Single entry visa (F4A): Intended for travelers visiting Nigeria for specific business purposes such as attending meetings, conferences, seminars, contract negotiations, engaging in marketing activities, participating in trade fairs, or conducting job interviews. This visa ensures single-entry access for focused business engagements.
Nigeria also provides targeted visa options for investors in small and medium enterprises, as well as large and ultra-large corporations, including those in the strategic oil, gas, and power sectors. These visas are designed to support foreign investment and allow investors to oversee and manage their ventures within Nigeria effectively.
F8A - Temporary work permit (TWP) visa: This is a single entry visa issued to foreign experts who are invited by corporate entities in Nigeria for a short period. The visa covers activities such as the installation, commissioning, upgrading, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery; training and capacity building of Nigerian staff; and the auditing of machinery, equipment, and financial records. It is issued following the approval of the Comptroller General of Immigration.
R11 - Temporary work permit (6 months): Similar to the F8A, this multiple entry visa is issued for six months to experts who need to provide specialized skilled services on a slightly longer-term basis. This permit also requires the authorization of the Controller General of Immigration.
This visa allows individuals to reside in Nigeria for a period not exceeding two years, offering a solution for those who need to stay longer for professional assignments or familial obligations without permanent residency.
