Spain offers several types of visas depending on the duration and purpose of the visit. Spain is a member of the European Union and the Schengen Area. Here is a summary of the primary visa categories:

‍Business Visa

For individuals engaging in short-term business-related activities like attending meetings, conferences, or conducting business negotiations. Non-EU citizens are allowed to visit Spain for maximum 90 days within a 180-day period.

Temporary resident visa

‍Work Residence and Permit (Employee): For individuals who have secured a job offer in Spain. This work permit is necessary to live and work legally in the country.

Highly Qualified Worker Visa: Targets professionals from outside the EU who can fill qualified or technical positions, or managerial roles requiring supervision of staff.

‍

Self-Employed Permit: Designed for entrepreneurs and freelancers wishing to start and manage their own business activities independently within Spain.

Permanent resident visa

Granted to non-EU nationals who have legally resided in Spain for at least five continuous years. Provides the right to live and work indefinitely in Spain.

Special visa categories

‍Investor Visa (Golden Visa): Requires a minimum investment of €500,000 in Spanish real estate. Offers long-term residency and is particularly attractive to non-EU investors.

‍

Digital nomad visa: Allows international remote workers to live in Spain while working for foreign employers or as freelancers with clients primarily outside of Spain. The visa is valid for three years and includes provisions for family dependents.
