UKVI Contract awarded to Sopra Steria

May 17, 2018 | Immigration, Latest Thinking, News

UK Visas and Immigration have awarded the contract to deliver new services for those applying for a work or study, visa, settlement or citizenship from within the UK.

The new contract is effective from October 2018.

What does this new service involve?

The new service will offer 60 locations across the UK, including 56 libraries and is designed to be more streamlined application process.

The way it will be more streamlined is that applicants will have one single appointment, at this appointment applicants will enrol biometrics (photographs and fingerprints), signature and supporting evidence.

How does this benefit applicants?

The streamlined process is designed so that copies of all documents are taken and sent to UKVI directly, originals will not need to be submitted, such as passports which we are sure people will be pleased about. In addition, the new process will mean that individuals can choose to upload digital files in advance of their appointment, saving even more time.

What about the same-day service?

The premium service centres will still be available by appointment for those who wish to utilise this service.
