The UK Visas & Immigration have confirmed that as of Monday 13th July 2020, further VFS Visa Application Centres (VAC’s) will re-open and resume its services. It has been eagerly anticipated by both businesses and individuals; ultimately it is a relief for UK visa applicants as biometrics appointments will recommence, and applicants can now progress with their visa applications.

On 9th July 2020, VAC’s for Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi also went live with slots for booking biometrics appointments. These appointments will start re-running from 27th July 2020.

In addition, further USCIS Application Support Centres (ASCs) will resume visa biometrics appointments albeit at a limited availability. These are the following:

Further Updates

For applicants who require to take an English language test, some centres have now restarted their operations. Applicants are now advised to contact and book an appointment via one of the following testing centres:

  • Pearson Test of English
  • Trinity College London
  • LanguageCert website
  • International English Language Testing System

For applicants who are scientists conducting research on COVID-19, they may be eligible for a Global Talent Visa. This will be via a newly prescribed route namely the UKRI endorsed funder option.
