1. Airspace closures impacting travel
- As of 23rd June 2025, several countries in the region have shut their airspace.
- Flights over key areas like eastern Iraq are being rerouted, causing delays on Europe-Asia routes.
- Major airlines (e.g. Lufthansa, Emirates, Air India) have suspended or adjusted operations.
- Jordan, Iraq, Iran, and Syria have reopened airspace, but further closures are possible.
2. Travel to and from Israel
- Ben Gurion Airport remains closed to most civilian flights.
- Only approved flights are operating.
- Several governments are arranging evacuation flights for their citizens.
- Foreign nationals should register with their embassies to stay informed.
3. Israeli immigration services
- Many Israeli embassies and interior offices are closed.
- Visa processing is paused, and delays are expected.
- Automatic visa extensions have been granted:
- Most visa types valid on 12th June are now extended to 30th September 2025.
