Global Immigration Update – Japan

Japan: From January 2018, the visa requirements for Indian and Ukranian nationals for entry into Japan will be relaxed.


  • Can apply for multiple-entry visa with only their passport and proof of financial means
  • Multiple-entry visa valid for five years will be issued if Indian applicants had travelled to Japan twice or more in the last year.


  • The scope of applications for Ukrainian nationals will be expanded for multiple entry visas for business or cultural/intellectual purposes and the visa will be extended from three to five years.
  • New multiple-entry visas for tourism and other purposes will be introduced valid for three years for stays of up to thirty days.
