Venezuela: Visas & Residency
Venezuela offers several types of visas depending on the duration and purpose of the visit. Here is a summary of the primary visa categories:
Tourist Visa
Allows tourists to stay up to 90 days, extendable for the same period. Tourists must leave the country after this period or face deportation.
Business transit visa
For merchants, executives, and micro-entrepreneurs conducting commercial or financial activities. Valid for one year with multiple entries, not extendable.
Temporary work visa
For individuals hired by a Venezuelan entity, serving as a permanent worker until the contract ends. Valid for up to one year, extendable, and allows multiple entries.
Businessman-industrialist Visa
For owners of companies or industries with operations or subsidiaries in Venezuela. Valid for two years, allows multiple entries with each stay up to four months, non-extendable per entry. Exceptions apply for nationals from countries with agreements with Venezuela.
Permanent resident visa
Grants indefinite residence rights within Venezuela. Permanent residents are not required to hold a work permit for paid activities.
