Kenya offers several types of visas depending on the duration and purpose of the visit. Here is a summary of the primary visa categories:
Single entry visa: This visa is suitable for tourists, business travelers, or those visiting family. It is valid for up to 90 days and can be extended for an additional 90 days, providing flexibility for those needing more time in the country.
- Work Visa (Class D): For foreign nationals employed in Kenya, this visa is sponsored by the employer and is valid for up to two years. It is renewable, enabling longer-term employment commitments.
- Dependent Pass: Issued to dependents of those holding valid Kenyan work or residency permits, such as spouses or children, facilitating family unity.
- Investor Visa (Class G): Targeted at individuals making significant investments in Kenyan businesses or industries. This visa is valid for up to two years and is renewable, supporting sustained economic contributions.
Available for individuals who meet specific criteria, such as having lived in Kenya for a prolonged period (7 years for foreign spouses of Kenyan citizens, 10 years for others) or significant investment in the country. Requires thorough application and approval from the Kenyan immigration authorities.
