Croatia
Croatia offers several types of visas depending on the duration and purpose of the visit. Here is a summary of the primary visa categories:
These visas cater primarily to tourists and business professionals. Tourists can stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, ideal for vacations or short visits. Similarly, business visitors can use this visa for short-term activities like attending meetings, conferences, or negotiations, also limited to 90 days within any 180-day span.
These are designed for longer stays. Individuals employed by Croatian companies or those transferred to Croatian branches of international firms are granted visas typically valid for the duration of their employment contract.
After residing in Croatia for five years with a valid temporary residence permit, individuals may apply for a permanent residence permit. This permit allows for an indefinite stay and affords holders nearly all the rights of Croatian citizens, except for voting in national elections.
There may be various ways in which citizenship can be obtained depending on the circumstances. Please reach out to Hudson McKenzie for an assessment to determine the best route.
