Simplified process to apply for a UK visit visa
In 2014 China saw the introduction of a new digital application service which was rolled out by the Home Office. This system allowed those applying for a UK visit visa to the Access UK system, a system specifically designed to simply the application process for a UK visit visa.
As part of the process, applicants can:
- make quicker visa applications using an intuitive online form
- use easy-to-follow checklists and steps which list the documents required to make an application
- apply flexibly using any mobile device
The system has now been rolled out in 180 countries and is available in 10 languages for those who are applying for one of the following short stay or tourist visa:
- Standard Visitor Visa
- Paid Permitted Engagement Visa
- Marriage Visitor Visa
The plan is for Access UK to replace the Visa4UK website, in an attempt to make the application process easier and user friendly. The system will ask a reduced number of questions and at the end of the application provide the applicant with a list of documents they will need to submit as part of their application.
