Russian Immigration – An update
Hudson McKenzie would like to remind Russian employers who intend to hire foreign workers and are subject to the quota system to submit their 2013 foreign labour forecasts to their Territorial Labour and Employment Services no later than 1 May 2012. We also urge employers to review any foreign workers who will require renewal of their work permits in 2013.
Positions that are NOT subject to the quota include:
- Highly Qualified Specialist – Any worker with a salary over 2 million Rubles (approx $60,000) per year;
- Occupations on a list published by the government and revised every year.
It is important to note that if Russian employers fail to submit a timely declaration, it may affect the company’s ability to receive allotments for work permits and ability to renew existing work permits.
