Russia – Professions exempt from Quota for 2012

The Russian Government published a list of professions for migrant workers which will be exempt from Quota in the year 2012.

The list is valid until the end of 2012 therefore it is recommended that employers who plan to hire foreign employees in 2013 to file a quota application for next year before 1 May 2012.

Employers may obtain work permits for migrant workers and hire them without having a quota to employ the individuals in the following professions and positions:-

  • General Director of a joint stock company.
  • Director of a Branch.
  • Director of a Representative office.
  • Chairman/Deputy Chairman of the Management board (Executive Committee).
  • Director of Economics.
  • Director of Department.
  • Chief Engineer.

The list includes 41 professions and positions and has been extended to include professions as Welding Engineers, Development Engineers and Technicians.
