Relaxation of immigration rules in Vietnam

September 29, 2021 | Immigration, News, Travel

The Vietnamese government have issued a new resolution to relax certain immigration rules for individuals who fill skills gaps in order to build back the economy after Covid. Many other countries have initiated the same strategy. In Vietnam, concessions are being made for experts, specialists and technicians.

How are the rules being relaxed?

Proof of experience requirement– previously issued work permits can be used as proof of experience for new work permits, this was not allowed before.

Proof of qualification– Certificates of graduation can be used to show proof of qualification. Previously, only diplomas and degrees were accepted.

Transfer of work– For those who hold a valid work permit in one province, can be temporarily assigned to work for up to 6 months in another province. Previously, a new work permit had to be obtained to be allowed to work in another province.
