London 2012 Olympics

February 3, 2012 | News

The opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the biggest event that the UK has hosted is only six months away. We urge those who wish to come to the UK as spectators to plan ahead and begin making their visa arrangements.

Athletes, coaches, officials and accredited media

Individuals who have been accredited by the UKBA and have received an Accreditation Card for the 2012 Olympic or Paralympic Games from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) may enter the UK as a special visitor in order to attend the events, without a visa. These accredited individuals include athletes, umpires, technical and support staff, broadcasters and others associated with the Games. These individuals are known as ‘Games family members’. Between the dates of 30 March 2012 to 8 November 2012, they may seek permission to enter the UK without a visa for a maximum period of 6 months.
