Global Immigration Update – United Kingdom
United Kingdom: IHS to double
From 8th January 2019, the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) is expected to double in the United Kingdom.
This change follows from a recent order in December 2018 in which authorised the doubling of the IHS to £400.00 per annum instead.
For students, the increase shall be from £150.00 to £300.00, including those on the Youth Mobility Scheme.
The new IHS rate specifically applies to those outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) who are seeking to live within the UK for more than six months, whether to sto study, work or simply join their family.
