Global Immigration Update – Switzerland
Switzerland: New legislative amendments announced
From 1st January 2019, Authorities in Switzerland will now be able to demand that residence permit applicants sign a ‘cultural integration’ agreement.
By signing the agreement, the foreign national applicants will also be required to demonstrate that they have a certain level of English language skills.
The approval by the Swiss Federal Council means that all applicants for a new or renewal temporary (type B) or permanent (type C) residence permits will now be affected by the new integration criteria.
