Panama: Work permit applicants must attend Ministry of Labour in person

The Ministry of Labour issued a decree recently, that has been implemented this year, that requires all work permit applicants to visit the ministry in person for biometric registration, before any work permit application is submitted.

The new registration system includes a scan of the applicant’s fingerprints, passport and a photograph.

Any applicants for the SEM residence visa for permanent staff of multi-national companies will not have to apply to this form of registration.
