Global Immigration Update – Israel
Israel: Foreign employees and spouses of Hi-Tech companies have new regulations.
The Israeli Ministry of Interior has recently published new regulations that are effective immediately, regarding the new ‘Hi-Tech’ Visa (HIT) that was announced in January 2017.
Regarding a one-year HIT visa, the process only applies to visa waiver nationals, in which the company needs to qualify as a ‘Hi-Tech Company’. All work permit applications must be submitted online. A B-1 Work Visa must also be obtained by the Ministry of Interior of Israel.
The regulations further state that less supporting documentation needs to be provided by both the employer and foreign national employee.
