Global Immigration Update – Iraq

Iraq: The Iraqi federal government has imposed a new restricted regime of fines.

The fines are particularly regarding visas that are activated late within the country.

The new regime is as follows:

  • The ‘grace period’ has been extended to 15 working days after entry
  • The fee for a late visa activation after the 15-day deadline has expired is no USD 82
  • For each day before the visa is activated, the fine is capped at approx. USD 4,350
