Global Immigration Update – Canada
Canada: Drink driving offences affect visa applicants
The penalty for drink driving under the ‘Criminal Code’ in Canada has now been doubled from five to ten years.
This now also means that any foreign national who has a previous ‘Driving Under the Influence’ (DUI) offence, will now have their visa application rejected, even if the offence was committed outside of Canada.
