Extension for the right to work checks
In a previous post, we explained that the UK government had announced that as of 17th May 2021, right to work checks can no longer be made by checking digital documents or scanned copies of documents online.
It must be noted that the UK government has now extended this to 21st June 2021. This means that from 21st June 2021 when employers are carrying out right to work checks on employees, they must have the original documents. Scanned documents will no longer be accepted as sufficient to prove an individual’s right to work in the UK.
