Brexit update: EU Settlement Scheme Opens

January 21, 2019 | Immigration, Latest Thinking, News

The Post-Brexit Registration System for settling within the UK has now opened for all EU Citizens.

All EU Citizens and their families must apply to the EU Settlement Scheme if they want to continue living within the UK after 30 June 2021, in which is also the deadline for applying.

Although many can apply now, the EU Settlement Scheme will not be fully ‘open’ until 30 March 2019, after the UK leaves the EU.

EU citizens will be required to apply for either ‘Pre-settled’ status if they have lived here for less than five continuous years, or ‘Settled’ status if they have lived for five continuous years or more.
