The UKVI recently published guidance upon the ECB05, regarding making visa applications outside the UK – so what exactly is outlined?

According to the UKVI, the following visa applications can be made in any visa application center or place where entry clearance applications are accepted, such as an overseas consular post or British diplomatic mission.

The following are applicable to these guidelines:

  • Visit Visa
  • Short-Term Study Visa
  • EEA Family Permit
  • Tier 5 Entry Clearance
  • Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) Entry Clearance

All other types of applications for entry clearance should be made within the country that one is currently living in.
