Many UK Visa applicants are not necessary applying for visas from the UK. Therefore, we take a specific focus on exactly what is the process for visa applicants to apply for a UK visa from the United States.

As an outline, the following three steps should be followed when applying for a UK visa from the USA:

  • Apply online for the visa and pay the fee accordingly.
  • Book a biometrics appointment at a local US Department of Homeland Security Application Support Center (ASC) whilst applying online.
  • Post your application form, passport, supporting documents and stamped biometric confirmation receipt (acquired from biometrics appointment) to the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI)

Alternative options available with this process are the ‘Super Priority and Premium Visa Services’ which allow applicants to receive a decision regarding their visa application within 24 hours of applying. However, this service is only available to those apply at the premium application centers listed in the U.S.A.
